We are available if you have already recorded your songs and would like them to be polished to an ultra high standard. Our production packages include everything from volume balancing, panning, EQ and effects, to replacing parts (e.g. drums). At the Studio Record, we are very sensitive to the feelings of our Artists. We never jump in and take over a session nor do we expect an Artist to do things our way. On the other hand, we have been making recordings for a very long time and have quite a few hits under our belt.
For a professional recording studio experience, our approach will empower and motivate any band to excel. When beginning a relationship with an Artist, one of the first things we try to establish is the degree of involvement the Artist wants us to have in their project. Usually we ask something like this: “On a scale of one to ten, how involved do you want us to be in your project?” (One equals: butt out. Ten equals: I need all the help I can get.) Usually the answer falls around six or seven where the Artist maintains the final say.
We believe it is good business to establish boundaries upfront. Depending on how involved with their recording project an Artist might want us to be, there usually is no fee for our Production Service. If an Artist would rather not use our production team, there’s no problem. 
Located in the western suburb of Chicago, the studio features a large acoustically tuned control room, large performance room and isolation booths. The recording room has a nice live sound perfect for any instrument and the control room is completely silent, thanks to a separate machine room. Our founder, Pete Masitti, is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York City, and has earned a reputation as an accomplished producer, recording engineer, song writer and musician. He has written, produced, played sessions for, or mixed and mastered for numerous major label acts including Kelly Rowland, Toni Braxton, Hootie and the Blow Fish, Luis Miguel, Julio Iglesias Jr, Taylor Dayne, and many more. As a musician, he has toured as a keyboardist/vocalist with several major artists including Shakira, David Lee Roth, and Julio Iglesias Jr., for whom he also served as musical director. Pete Masiiti's experience as a accomplished producer gives him a totally unique and fresh approach and bands love it.
Recording Studio Process:
We have high quality digital studio recording equipment. We have a sound treated isolation room for drums, vocals & have the ability to record 20 tracks simultaneously. We shape music to the sound that you hear in your head.
We use high end microphones. We will be able to perfectly capture vocals, guitar and bass amps, and drums in our isolation room which has been designed and built to dimension that eliminate standing waves and give a balanced and rich sound. The whole studio is also wired to provide the clearest and fullest tone and sound possible.
Recording Studio Mastering:
Audio Processing Mastering enhances and prepares your final mix for CD duplication. This includes subcoding and other audio processes that are essential for a properly mastered recording. Expensive mastering gear like tube compressors, specialized equalizers, and accurate reference monitors separate true mastering facilities from edit rooms with inexpensive digital audio software.
At the heart of the recording studios is a Digidesign Pro Tools HD Accel system running Pro Tools version 8. To provide the warmth and space that only an analog board can give, all Pro Tools outputs are routed separately through Solid State Logic's (SSL) acclaimed XLogic SuperAnalogue Summing Buss providing outstanding depth and clarity of sound during tracking, mixdown and mastering. Additionally, all mixes are passed through SSL’s renowned G-Series Master Buss Compressor for that “Radio Ready” touch. Outstanding D/A & A/D conversion is handled by the Lynx Aurora 16. The system is hosted by a blazing fast Apple Mac Pro 8 core Desktop Computer with 8 gig of ram, a spacious Apple Cinema Display, dual DVD burners, and four 750 gig hard drives for daily worry free archiving and backup. For additional archiving the DROBO system is also employed.
The Manley MU Variable Tube Compressor is used by the top professional mastering studios doing major record label projects. Its many applications include adding "warmth", "punch", and an overall smoothness to the finished product.
The Weiss EQ1-MK2 Stereo Mastering Equalizer can increase the clarity of many frequencies. Additionally, the Weiss has the ability to correct certain problems associated with compromised recording and / or mixing.
Genelec 1031A Reference Monitors with the matching by-passable Subwoofers and a pair of original Yamaha NS-10M’s, and Auratone Cubes are designed specifically for mastering applications where extreme listening accuracy is demanded. The mastering engineer needs to hear exactly what is transpiring in the mix so proper signal processing can be applied. The Chicago recording studio also features Genelec 8030A’s with a matching Subwoofer and M-audio small reference monitors.
Specialized digital software and hardware processors are also used to limit or omit loud peaks, maximize playback volume, and provide smoothness and volume continuity to the entire mastered disc.

If you do not have a band, we can help. If you are a songwriter and you don't have access to a band we can provide a "band" sound without the band! You'll have drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, loops, strings, synths....whatever you want or need for your song. We'll also help with arrangements and other little behind the scenes things to make the song the best it can be. Or we can provide session musicians for the sound you want to hear.
